Reading:
Monday- Read ”Zlateh the Goat” Practice with State Wasl Reading Practice
Tuesday- Answer comprehensive, vocabulary and critical analysis questions on the above story utilizing software. Students respond on paper and study the responses. Also, this weeks spellinhg/vocab list will be given. Test on last weeks words and this weeks words will be incorporated into the reading test on Friday.
Wednesday- Read “The Jacket”. The remainder of the period should be spent reading silently.
Thursday- Answer comprehensive, vocabulary and critical analysis questions on the above story utilizing software. Students respond on paper and study the responses.
Friday- Test on the above two stories and spelling/vocab.
Language:
Monday- We will work on the Grammar and Usage Part I of the Holt Grammar software. Students will copy the paragraphs and insert an appropriate word. Students should reflect on the completed work.
Tuesday- Cross Curricular work on the World’s Fair project.
Wednesday- Grammar and Usage Part II. Same procedure as Monday.
Thursday- Interactive Spelling work using Holt Software. Students will practice spelling rules. We will construct a study sheet of examples and students will reflect on theguide.
Friday- Test. Cross Curricular work on the World’s Fair project.
Note: Accelerate Math Worksheets and P2 Integrated Practice will be administered during the week.

Monday- Julius Caesar conquers Gaul and crosses the Rubicon. Students will reflect on this information by writing their perceptions of the dangers of dictatorial actions on a Republic.
Tuesday- Julius Caesar in Africa and conflict with Pompey and Cleopatra. Students will describe the political relationship (political balance) between Caesar and Cleopatra
Wednesday- Reforms of Julius Caesar. Students will note the reforms and compare to our own Republic.
Thursday- The death of Julius Caesar. Students will use critical analysis to determine the reasons for the assassination.
Friday- Test on the last study guide. Video on Rome
