September 7 to 10, 2010

Reading:
Monday- No School
Tuesday- Read "The Story Telling Stone" (pages 10-13). Complete questions 1-3 on page 15.
Wednesday- Read "La Bamba" (pages 16-24). Discuss the story (class work).
Thursday- Discuss the meaning of similes. Ask questions about La Bamba. Watch a power point on similes.
Friday- Answer the questions 1-11 on page 25 (La Bamba)

Language:
Monday- No School
Tuesday- Students will write the definition of a pronoun and several examples. Ten to fifteen sentences will be copied for which antecedents must be identified.
Wednesday- We will study personal pronouns and write several examples. Students will then identify personal pronouns in ten to fifteen copied sentences.
Thursday- We will study demonstrative pronouns and copy several examples. We will identify the same in ten to fifteen copied sentences.
Friday- Students will write a short story on their past week of school. Minimum 300 words. They will underline all nouns and pronouns.

Math 1:
Monday- No school
Tuesday- Looking For a Pattern. Do problems 1-22 on page 7.
Wednesday- Reading and Making a Table. Do problems 1-10 on page 11
Thursday- Making a List. Problems 1-16 on page 15.
Friday- Using a graph. Problems 1-13 on page 19 and 20.

Math 2:
Monday- No school
Tuesday- Complete Problems 1-11 on pages 6-7. Problem Solving
Wednesday- Discovering Patterns and Solving Problems. Pages 8-11. Problems 1-15
Thursday- Drawing Diagrams. Pages 16-19. Problems 1-31.
Friday- Experiments and Simulations. Problems 1-12 on pages 22 and 23.

Art:
Monday- No School
Tuesday- Students will read pages 2-5 in the art book. Answer all five questions on page 5.
Wednesday- Students will create designs on a paper by drawing a continuous line, which often intersects and then color the spaces with the the basic colors and some over lapping hues.
Thursday- Students will read pages 8-11. They will answer all questions on page 11 and define highlighted words in their own translation.
Friday- Video on a featured artist. Class work.

History-
Monday- No school
Tuesday- Define historian, archaeologist, artifact, anthropologist, fossil, technology and nomad.
Wednesday- Read a story on "Otzi the Iceman". Describe Otzi. Write a paragraph on what you think scientists will say about us several hundred years from now.
Thursday- Discuss neolithic times. Define domesticate, Jericho, specialization, Catal Huyuk.
Friday- ESD movie on Neolithic times.
