Reading:
Monday-
• Overview and discussion of “The Dog of Pompeii” starting on page 401
• Read “The Dog of Pompeii” while listening to the auditory presentation
• Add to the flash card work sheet (using highlighted words within the text)
• Identify the subject, theme, conflict, climax and resolution of this story.
Tuesday-
• Verbal quiz on highlighted words beginning with “The All American Slurp”
• Copy and then answer the following questions: 1) How do babies or animals, who cannot talk, tell you something? 2) What are the five senses? 3) How is Tito handicapped?
• List all the things that Tito hears, touches, tastes or smells within the text.

• You will practice avoiding run on sentences while combining sentences properly when possible. Your paragraphs will exemplify your knowledge of nouns, run on sentences, etc.
• Selected stories will be read aloud
